It is quite important that any profession gets new blood. The younger, the better.
This is not only because people don't live forever, but also because neither should ideas.
We all tend to believe at least some things. Some in deities, some in knowledge, some both. However, there is one thing that must be taken notice of - Even if there is perfect truth, then a human can not accurately explain what it is.
Due to this, people pass on ideas, but also lies. It doesn't mean that anyone has to have bad intentions, rather it's eventually unavoidable that something goes wrong.
Once a fault has been introduced into a system, there is nothing that a person inside the system can do about it. They won't even know it's there.
For this reason it is necessary that people outside the system have the ability to give critique. Yes, novices won't know the lot of information that professionals do, but for this same reason they can apply even greater scrutiny on any idea, small or big.
To conclude: A system without external forces tends to become corrupt. It is inevitable.
